.still.alive! ::
Posted by Callidus at 4:13.12pm on 14/11/04
It's been a while since I've posted anything, and for relatively good reason. There's a lot happening at the moment, with some internal reshuffling going on, numerous concurrent major projects, and probably the biggest time consumer of all - Uni. With the Uni year coming to a close, however, updates should be a lot more frequent, and there will be a lot more work added to the portfolio and wallpaper sections.

Just a quick update (I know it's been a while...) with a few more items added to the portfolio. First up is Octain Gaming - http://games.octain.com.au - still being coded by their developer, should be released soon, hopefully. The layout design is at http://octain.digitalimpurity.com for those of you who can't be bothered looking at the portfolio ;)
Next up is RoxoR Internet - http://www.roxor.com.au - will be released later this week (hopefully....), site it at http://roxor.digitalimpurity.com/ for now.
Finally is the Sydney-based Blacklist Technologies, http://www.blacklist.com.au - they have a wide variety of products, and function primarily online at current.
Some big releases coming up soon, so stay tuned!

Well, things have been fairly busy lately - One major project is well on the way to completion, and a few smaller sites have been completed since my last post.
First up is is the E-Zone LAN Cafe site - http://www.ezonelan.com - They're situated in Hawthorne, Victoria, so if you have some time to kill, grab some friends and head down and check it out.
Secondly, we have Adrenaline eSports - http://www.aesports.net - A relatively new gaming network, now merged with AusOne eSports. For further info, feel free to join their IRC channel - #aesports on irc.enterthegame.com
That's all for now, there's more coming within the next couple of weeks though.

It's about time I posted something :|
Last night and today saw the launch of APG Internet Services, a new Veridas-based ISP, operated by long-running Australian Professional Gaming. Coupled with their soon-to-be-released new gaming network, also to be housed on Veridas, APG Internet Services looks to hold promise for Veridas-based gamers.
Last night also saw the release of Ascension's site. Ascension is a Toowoomba-based Internet and Gaming cafe, offering excellent machines and highly professional service. By all reports, the store's opening night last weekend was huge, and they're following it up with another lockdown this weekend (tomorrow!). So if you're in Toowoomba, and feel like some quality gaming this weekend, head down to Ascension.

Thanks to whoever pointed out that they weren't there - I'm sorry but I can't remember who it was - if you're reading this, give me a shout on MSN please, I'll recognize the address :)
I don't know where the wallpapers folder went. I don't know when they went. I don't know how it went. I don't know where it is now. But they're back up... Sorry for any inconvenience this caused :\
The truth is out there.
EDIT: That thanks goes out to Deadcom ;) Long time no see mate!

It's been a while since I've made a news post, busy with a few things at the moment, exams and assignments among them unfortunatly. Not too long till the summer holidays though...
Yesterday saw the release of infernoLAN's website, a new Brisbane LAN Cafe - and an impressive one at that. Top notch systems, coupled with a high-speed internet link really do make inferno an excellent place for killing time with some mates, or to get in some prac with your lan clan. This Friday the 10th of Oct marks the official opening of inferno, so if you live in Brissie, try and make it in, it should be a great night for all. infernoLAN is located on Level 1, 65 Adelaide St, near the Commonwealth Bank, and their site - http://www.infernolan.net/
I'll hopefully have a few more things up soonish.

If you're here via the actual domain... congrats, disregard the rest of this post!
Otherwise... you're here via the direct IP... which isn't a good thing. DeepBlue moved servers, DNS servers are updating at the moment, all should be good soon.
I hope.
What was supposed to be a 'smooth transfer' according to the tech at the datacenter DeepBlue moved to, turned into a sort of controlled chaos. Controlled by the tech, naturally. And not a good chaos, like my desk is. I know where everything is on my desk, even if other people don't. The tech created ACTUAL chaos, which basically screwed up everything.
*Throws a banana into the datacenter* Fight for the food chimps!

Alrighty then...
First off, I'm happy to announce the new site skin I've been working on for [url=http://www.holden-vs-ford.com/]Holden-vs-Ford went live Monday, and by the look of things, it's going rather nicely. I will hopefully get around to posting the item in the portfolio later today (it's 3am, and I need sleep for a change), I've been meaning to do it since Monday, but simply haven't found the time :\
Besides Holden-vs-Ford, I've been busy with Uni work lately (why is it everything is always due a fortnight of each other, and the rest of the semester is clear sailing?), so I apologise for the lack of updates.
i'm currently working on a script to make some pretty stats about the site, it's looking good so far, and I hope to have it up soon, pending uni work, coffee shortages, and the end of the world don't interfere with progress. Although, the latter does solve the former to a degree...
.downtime ::
Posted by Callidus at 1:50.32pm on 16/08/03
Yes, the site has been down for the last few days. It's a long story WHY it was down, but in the end it boils down to the data center techs telling both me and the DeepBlue owner "Well it looks up to us", while us and the rest of the world gets lovely error messages.
Go figure.
That said, DeepBlue will be moving to a new data center as soon as possible, so there will be another downtime while data is transferred and DNS resolves to the new location. Ultimately however, it should provide better performance for DeepBlue users overall.

It's been a while since I've posted anything, purely due to working on multiple things at the same time, and having just finished what I wanted to get up to for this update, so...
The shoutbox is now working, technically it has for a while now though. You can modify your name colour via your profile edit page, which is also now working. It's tied to your forum account (as is the rest of the site...) so you can update everything at once there (except you sig... which I'll add when I get a chance.
New wallpaper has been up for a week or so now - Simplicity was a bit of a byproduct from messing around with another piece of work, and I liked it enough to follow it through.
Finally, the forum skin has been applied. There's still a few things that need to be modified on it yet before it's 'complete', however at the moment it's a working prototype.
Any feedback on the site, or any of my work would be greatly appreciated, so if you have time, please stop by the forums and leave a message about what you think. And if you can't think of a way to make criticism constructive, don't bother posting :) Thanks ;)

I've finally managed to get all the portfolio items + wallpapers uploaded and added to the site, having been delayed doing this a bit by the DNS updates and a bit of server downtime caused by a kernel upgrade. However, they're here now, so enjoy!

Looks like everything is starting to work again \o/
We moved to our new host Deep Blue Hosting ( http://www.deepbluehosting.com ) today, DNS servers are probably still proporgating, so it might be a day or two yet before things are settled.
Still heaps to do at the moment - Deep Blue has kept me busy for the time being, so I haven't had much of a chance to work on DI at all. I hope to get some of the features done this week, as well as get the portfolio online (finally!)
If anyone needs cheap, quality webhosting, drop by Deep Blue and have a look at their plans, they're very competitive for those on a tight budget, and are able to accomodate a wide range of users - from the occasional user to businesses requiring dedicated solutions. We're with them now, and everything seems to have gone pretty smoothly so far, so thumbs up all the way.
Should have some more news later in the week I hope :)
